2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup margarine
2 tablespoons arrowroot powder
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
2 tablespoons grated orange peel
1. Mix the flour, baking soda, and
ginger in a large bowl.
2. In another bowl, mix the sugar, margarine, arrowroot powder,
water, oil, orange juice, and poppy seeds. Beat until thoroughly
mixed.
3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix
well. Add the grated orange peel and mix again.
4. Place 2-3 tablespoon-large discs of cookie dough on a lightly
oiled pan, spaced 2 inches apart. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for
12-14 minutes, until the tops of the cookies are just firm.
